In July 2009, the clinic was started as an urgent walk-in clinic in a compounding pharmacy, but it quickly grew into a primary care clinic and has evolved over the years to a more comprehensive integrative practice. I want to get individuals to achieve their optimal health, not just treat illnesses. We moved to our current location 6 years to better serve our patients. We serve patients from newborns to senior citizens. We incorporate traditional, nutritional, and alternative treatment options in our care. We started with some aesthetic treatments so patients could feel and look good inside and out.
When I worked in the ER, I realized many of the visits were because individuals had no understanding of their medications, medical conditions, and alternative treatments to help improve their condition and lessen the need for medications. This prompted me to go back and get my nurse practitioner degree. I always wanted to own my own clinic so I could provide holistic comprehensive care to individuals.
I opened the NP Care Clinic in October of 2009. We have always provided holistic care and have gradually evolved to include more integrated healthcare options. I want patients to live their lives to the fullest with the least amount of medication for as long as possible. Reaching optimal health is the goal. We want patients healthy and beautiful inside and out.
I have been a nurse since 1994 and a nurse practitioner since 2008. I’m married with 4 great kids. I’m passionate about medical missions traveling to Uganda, Haiti, Belize, and sites in the USA every year. In addition, I am very active in my church. I also do wildlife rehab, so occasionally there will be a baby squirrel in the back of the office. I love all things to do with nature, whether it is outside gardening or kayaking.
I started out as a music major in percussion and piano, then took a 24-year break to be a flight attendant with AA. However, the whole time I knew I wanted to help people achieve and maintain their health. That’s when I went back to school and completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington.
I have been with the NP Care Clinic for more than 5 years. I have enjoyed getting to know the patients and help them reach their healthcare goals. I’m a strong believer in patient education and finding resources to help patients in need.
I have been married for 25 years, and have 4 children and grandchildren. My favorite time is spending time with my children and grandchildren. I enjoy playing music, going to concerts, traveling, and exploring the world. But most of all, I enjoy caring and helping people.
